Before Apple compresses the gold they state that they melt it and cast it in a "hardening process"

no further information on what that "hardening process" is before they compress it.

Apple does state that the gold is mixed with silver, copper and palladium , palladium group of metals is associated with lqmt's original LM formula.

no ceramic or boride is used, as suggested with the light-weight gold ceramic matrix patent.

The aluminum alloy is "jet cooled" in molds, seems Apple is using CIP to make amorphous alloys before further processing them, mixing new technology with old technology.
