hey skillz, here is my take on tonight's "girl's night"
as you mentioned in the past here, the girls are better than the boys, and you are right (for now)
- lovey- 16 y/o girl- uh oh, only "karaoke" quality and she danced around like a toddler having a temper tantrum.
- adanna- strangely good! but, flat when she got loud and excited. and get this, as i said before, i jot notes down BEFORE the judges comment, so not to sway me, and they used that exact word, that she lost it some when she got "excited".
- alexis- country singer- too rushed but VERY good. and so beautiful, so she has that also going for her. they always make them rush their first official voting songs, so its got to be rough.
- joey, aka "kiwi" (as they dubbed her. haha.) - hated it. it was more of a comedy act with bad singing, but the judges loved it. reminded me of Carol Burnett, with the mop and all. (you youngin's will have to google that one)
- katherine- nice... flat at times, but a "real" original voice, vs copying someone else. (like some do).
- shannon- 17 y/o- also flat some, boring, sleepy, even during the fast parts. judges agreed.
- Loren- i think my fav female singer so far.. and she modulated, which really is hard to do. meaning, you go up a few points and hit it right on key. a little shaky, but powerful and great emotion. simon, if he was still on HIS show, would have said it was a bit broadway like, but he would like it i think. again, the judges used the word i jotted down "powerful".
- shi- she is still imitating the singer with that odd accent. hated it but loved the "cher" look, in that dress. (for those of you youngins, at the end of this post, i will find a comparison to shi and cher, back a LONG time ago. i remember i was a kid and shocked to see Cher, on the cover of some magazine, in a nearly see through dress.. haha. (see pics at end)
- maddie- 16 y/o who looks in her 20's. uh oh, nerves killed it. flat/off key.. but cute as can be. the end was good though.
- sarina- 4th time on idol- wow, very good! I am not into "rifs" but she took over that stage and rocked it out! best of the night imo.
- jax- also faked that odd accent, like the famous singer. did a remake of an old song, rocked it out some but only just good, imo.
(they are all so nervous, like the guys were, its like, what did they do to these poor kids?) Omg, im saying "like" and im "like" 50 years old. i sound like a 12 y/o, haha.
- tyanna- 16 y/o- flat, ouch, and the hair was very.. well.. "unkempt" so that i dont use a word that may be offensive. hated it, but i like her as a person. also, horrible outfit for her. judges loved it. sigh.
ok, here is the pic of cher first, then the pic of the shi, in her dress, that reminds me of cher back in the day. wow, i had to find the video of Shi, to "screen shot" the dress, as there was no pics yet of it. but here ya go.
