Dr's write prescriptions, not Insurance Co's.

But insurance companies create formularies, not doctors. I believe I posted here recently of my shock that the OOP price I pay for my inhaler went up from $40 to $100 in 2015 because of price increases and it being on T3? And that as of 2015 my allergy med Vistaril, crucial for when I get hives, has been totally dropped from the formulary, meaning Aetna won't pay for it at all? There is NO SUBSTITUTE for Vistaril! WTF am I supposed to do now? A month's supply is nearly $400 retail, absolutely out of the question, can't afford anything close to that - who could? And no generic inhalers either - Aetna absolutely determines what drugs I can and cannot take, either by charging exorbitant copays or not covering it at all.
