Because they perform a service that helps him and do it at a loss, plus he gets stock he can sell and maybe even a paycheck from DKAM.

Why would he kill that goose? The creditors may get sick of waiting and shut it down, but they'll get so little, they have no incentive either.

It will stay around as long as they can find more retail buyers of the stock.
