Of course IT deals, and any deals, can extend out beyond expectation.
However, using the phrase "stand by" and then having deals extend out for several months after that is a contradiction.
If a rep in a deal, large or small, told me to "stand by" for a deal to close and then it wasn't closed 3 months later, they're fired. They didn't have a good handle on what it would take to get that deal to close.
To reiterate, I believe it was a bad choice of words for him to use at that time and is one of the reasons the share price is where it is.
