The Oanda pip spread on EUR/USD is normally 2. Sometimes it will drop down to 1.5.. but wouldnt count on it. Sometimes you get lucky. As far as the other spreads AUD/USD etc.. they are all competitive or better than others I have seen. However, I am not sure if other brokers are like this.. when the market starts to move quickly.. the pip spread jumps as high as 5 on EUR/USD. I am guessing most brokers have larger gaps when the market is moving quick? I didnt pay attention when I was shopping around using simulators (GFT, FXCM).
Overall, Oanda seems solid right now. I will have a much better sense in the next 2 weeks. The reason I got it was to fill orders fast before news reports (was told it was the best at speed?)... if I cant do that.. I am switching to a 100/1 leverage broker. Perhaps FXCM since it has gotten good remarks from a couple traders here.
