I think both calls were wrong. Jeter should of had an error and Williams error should not of occurred. Williams may of erred in judgement by overrunning the baseball but that isn't a physical error as he never touched the ball.
If you go by that critera, Jeter should of definatley had an error because he should of held the ball and kept the lead runner from scoring.
It is a very slippery slope though if you start judging scoring decisions based on what someone might be thinking.
Jeter's throw was a physical error, it was up the baseline. Bernie's was not.
The other scoring pique' I have these days is giving a hit when a fielder ole's a ball and then they say it took a bad hop. Today's players just aren't playing sound fundamental defense.
