When the space shuttle took its maiden flight it was fitted with the best 10+ year old tech money could buy. Why???? Because it was a huge investment to produce the spacecraft and they wanted something that they knew was going to work based on historical results. Investing in a new vehicle powertrain for a company the size of VW is no small undertaking and represents 100s of millions of dollars if not a billion+. As wonderful as we think MVTG is (and I really think it is, and represents a phenomenally disruptive tech) it's just too damn new. Therefore, imho I believe VW is taking the conservative approach and embracing a more comfortable tech that when implemented will still deliver intended results. Mvtg will have its day. Personally, I'm hedging my bets as I hold: bldp, Mvtg, fcel and hygs. If they all don't succeed on their own merit then they will probably merge or be acquired. Ultimately, I'll win if I hold which is my plan. As well as acquire on dips. We are at the beginning of a long hydrogen foot path that will eventually be a paved 12 lane super highway. Hell, next week GE might sweep up all these companies! GLTA, it's gonna be a fun ride. My guess, is this will get some CEOs thinking and talking about opportunities.......
