When it comes to materials mentioned in this article, reference is made ONLY to plastic SABOTS, the initial jackets around the projectile that take the projectile through the "launch" mode and establish initial azimuth and trajectory and then immediately discarded in flight.

Not mentioned are any of the materials to be used in the projectile itself. Also, the impetus to the projectile is provided by explosive force rather than any electromagnetic force.

The shape of this projectile is nothing unique that requires the tolerances which liquidmetal injection molding might offer.

Don't see any fit here, except, perhaps, in the actuators themselves.

I do not see any supplementary links that steer this application towards liquidmetal. Is the last name of one of the co-workers at Sandia "Visser". That might help solve the dilemma of at least one of the missing four prototypes.

I have been wrong before.

Proove me wrong on this one and I will be happy to eat crow, which is a lot tastier than the other #$!* on this board.

In the meantime, please check out the PPS and regard how the market forces are reacting to this new found application :)
