We should be expecting a reverse split. There is no other way to gain admission to the NASDAQ. I'm expecting a 50:1 basis, maybe slightly greater consolidation.
Ordinarily investors are frightened of this sort of event but there are other considerations:
Moving to a more visible and respectable exchange invites greater exposure to monied hands. Many institutions are prohibited from investing in publicly traded companies unless their overall value exceeds a particular level, or the share structure meets specific requirements or the price per share demonstrates a thirty day long value as specified in the laws and bylaws of the participating fund or investing entity.
That said, we all invest for the same reason: To make money. By increasing capital inflows, AMBS stands to bring in money necessary to increase activity critical to expansion.
I'm all for the split, should it come to the fore. And if I'm right, the time to add shares will be the week to two weeks following execution of the split as this is typically when shares dive due to the onslaught of shorts.
