ARP scares me. The first thing I noticed is that it's at the bottom end of the trailing 52 weeks. Then I see it's a monthly payer so I look at earnings over the past year only to see an incredibly obvious lack of sustainability with regard to payouts.

High yield plays spell my middle name but there is no way I could believe this this thing will continue to be productive as an income producer. Far worse in my mind is that this is all about production and nothing else. That said, no matter how many wells operate and/or are added to the production line, so long as oil and gas are in a downward spiral there can be no assurance that this will be a money-making asset for those of us depending upon such plays for regular income.

This would have been an interesting play were it not for the oilfield devastation now ongoing.

I've been plowing cash into NTI, an oil and gas MLP which has been immensely profitable for me. When they give out guidance next month, I'll be expecting seventy-five cents or better for the quarterly payout. If you're interested, visit the NTI board here at IHUB. Catdaddy and Pete are moderators and exceptionally well versed and honest. Each will give you his best insights and working knowledge.

Let me know what you decide to do, won't you?
