Published on Aug 22, 2014 Amazon will start testing its delivery drones in India as soon as October. Acording to reports, its initial plan was to use it in US, which hit roadblocks because use of commercial drones is currently illegal in the US. Amazon will start drone trials in Bangalore and Mumbai. This new step will increase competition in the e-commerce sector. Last month, Amazon and Flipkart were in news as Flipkart had raised $1 billion to which Amazon invested $2 billion for India market.
The Government has shown signs that it wants to make India a destination for international investment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day speech, had called for 'Make In India' -- a call for inclusivity which follows from the Digital India vision.
