Don't forget, you can sell IDCC after a buyout is announced and before the deal is closed. It may cost you the difference between the buyout price and the stock price, but it may be worth it to get out early, in the event of some complications.

I would wait it out on the announcement of an initial buyout offer, hoping someone might come in with a higher takeover bid, causing perhaps a buyout war.

You can cash out of some of the shares and hold the remaining on a stock swap, paying taxes only on the amount you sell. (Unless all shares are in an IRA type account that is not taxable.
