Many VERY big companies do much the same thing.
Not as a comparison of companies or value, but as a comparison of another company that says news or product is "on the way" and even sets a date and then the world "guesses" at what it will look like would be Apple.
How many years has iphone "x" been slated for news on its release weeks and even months in advance?
So it's a fairly NORMAL business practice to have news and to want to BUILD anticipation of the public when the news is solid.
PLKD is just taking a page from the big boys play book here, and to give it as a holiday gift to their LOYAL shareholders??? Well companies have been saving their BIGGEST news for the Holiday season for years as well.

It's easy to realize Rico is running a company based on product for CHILDREN. Now he tells the public MAJOR news to basically reward his loyal shareholders being released Christmas Eve, a holiday about family and one that has turned into a children being able to believe in "magic" and the good in people.
How many really think that if Rico doesn't come thru here that this would blow over like so many other otc ceo games and lies?
Trust me, this one wouldn't.
And Rico knows it, if he plays this one out as a negative and it was a scam then his company (a children focused company) is dead. His reputation would be done for when parents see angry shareholders and some of those are parents, media sees a real day 'scrooge' who used children on Christmas to benefit himself......oh yeah the 10 o'clock news loves present day Scrooge stories.
So NO WAY does Rico not have MAJOR NEWS for the public on December 24th at 8:30 AM! No way at all.
