Hi Dr. Chuck,

Northwest does not need to let us know when they hit the first or second IA, but they do need to tell us the recommendation they accept to proceed with within 3 days, I believe. The company letting us know so well in advance that we should set our expectation to hear "continue" only is a very smart move. Results of the DMC IA review could then not be deemed negative, provided it's at least a "continue". And, it always for the least SP manipulation of the expected news. IMUC received a continue, so there is reason for anyone who shorts the stock to believe they might receive anything less. Plus, since there's still always a chance they could halt, then they will capitalize on those who want to get in the stock just in case NW receives a "halt" and decides to accept that recommendation and communicate it to their shareholders. It's a win-win situation as far as I'm concerned. Set low expectations and if they decide to change their mind and accept a DMC halt recommendation, not one shareholder would be upset.
Lastly, it also allows them to continue both trials until 2016, and pushes the make-it or break-it point out until then.
