I agree with the observation that there seems to be a lot of short term interest with GTAT...day trading as you say. I have held GT for many years......since they went public. Started at $12 ipo dropped to $3 and climbed to $20 and now $.45.Quite a ride!! With all the chatter here ...for some one to think it is about CH 7 really shows how little DD gets done.

They have a lot of technology with a lot of potential but as part of the reorg they let 45 people go in Merrimack and a lot of those were in Engineering. Granted some of the tech is not Merrimack based....Hyperion in Danvers MA and Merlin in CAlif.
The vacuum deposition is in NC I believe...with Kyma.

Not sure they can move more than a couple forward to commercialization due to financial constraints.

When they bought Crystal Systems it was a sapphire materials supplier servicing the LED substrate and optical arenas out of The Salem, NH operation. This was converted to an APPLE operation.
Are they now 100 % out of the material business for all applications...granted the material side was never very big but did add credibility to their equipment sales operation as a demonstration facility.
