I wonder if the goal, besides bankrupting Russia and Venezuela, is to get the prices on alternative energy stocks so cheap that the big oil co's like Exxon and BP can swoop in and buy them up and either put the technology on the shelf for later use, destroy it like they did with public transportation before the car industry really took off and the public hwy system was built, or weed out the weak companies and technologies or all three?
