This 3rd quarter has been a very busy time for JPO Absorbents. Jamie has just returned from a 3 week road trip, logging just over 4 thousand miles on the JPO truck and trailer. Jamie visited potential clients in California, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Kansas and Oklahoma. He had successful meetings and product demonstrations with some of the largest companies that provide commodities and chemicals to the Oil & Gas Industry worldwide.
We are in final negotiations with a very large company in Bakersfield, California that will become our West Coast Master Distributor. Being there to support them while they build a sales staff throughout the region is key. Bakersfield is also one of the top five oil producing regions in the country. JPO Absorbents plans fully stock and open this west coast office and distribution center in Bakersfield just after the 1st of the year. This is great news for us since one of the biggest hurdles we have faced to date is how to ship product across country in a timely fashion and at reasonable rates. With this facility, we can aggressively attack a limitless market and offer 24-48 hour delivery of our products anywhere in California and surrounding states.
Back at the home office, we have begun the search for independent representatives to sell our products. Our goal is to build a team of representatives to present, demonstrate and sell our line of absorbent products throughout the country. We are looking for candidates that have contacts in industries that can use our products and may already be selling complimentary product lines to these clients. Jim has already held several interviews with some very promising candidates. After selecting only the best, these reps will be trained extensively, provided with the proper tools to ensure their success and be supported 100% by the company. Our plan is to have these representatives hit the ground running in early January 2015.
