We tend to think that ignorance on this scale ended after the Galileo and Copernicus era, but ignorance and stupidity still maintain their number one rank as determiners of history.

The problem is made worse by the FDA. The FDA was chartered to stop false and misleading claims from patent medicines, and to protect the public from unsafe food and drugs. The FDA has morphed into an agency who now behaves as a censor of scientific information. The biggest problem the company faces is ignorance of the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis in the medical profession. The FDA by limiting the company's ability to include information, on the label, about the anti inflammatory properties of EPA, and scientific evidence linking inflammation to atherosclerosis, has stifled Amarin, and prevented the dissemination of material that would save millions of lives.

The FDA is an arrogant parent. Jealous of their power, they have slipped their bonds and turned into the opposite of what they were intended for.
