Assuming they get a half decent PR firm to get the ball rolling, I think the pre-order amount will open a lot of peoples eyes. Honestly, a lot of the INITIAL success of this product has to do with the apps this works with and how much curiosity they can spark.

Also no one seems to be factoring in software profits from these apps when discussing profits from the 2-5k tester batch.

Day traders can have their fun for now, enjoy it while it lasts.
