hi blue,

for myself, i assume that solms releases products which comply with existing TCG standards and that they are saleable to folks using legacy hardware and Windows 7 and 8 software.

otherwise, why bother?

but i measure wave's progress by reference to demand. wave doesn't sell TCG. TCG is basically an environment. Wave sells its own software. its performance depends upon how many customers want to purchase what it offers.

the standard setting process is a mouse-wheel. it will go on forever. the only certifications a company can comply with are existing ones.

of course, large companies often use standard setting bodies to screw up small ones. so if new tpms are a requirement, i daresay it may have been set to promote delay. oy vey. a critical mass of 2.0s is necessary before anyone will buy trusted software so this will take years. oy vey. people will have to upgrade to Windows 8. oy vey. Wave's legacy OS advantage just evaporated. etc.

but if existing 1.2s are worthwhile, the whole notion that the supply siders have something useful to say about the timeline is entirely specious. they are just claiming prescience that belongs to wave's products - which customers can buy for use alongside their 1.2s and 2.0s.

the third option - 2.0 with no delay is just carrot dangling.
