Let's remember this is a NYC. This article is written to pat the RISE-NYC organizers on the back for including local, diverse and minority run businesses. I was at the Red Hook table, they have a great program for minority youth to learn and work on the community mesh network. The Red Hook company is doing a great thing for these kids and I hope they get a project in the Red Hook area so they can encourage this type of entrepreneurship. But their system is nothing compared to Wialans established WEW's system. It can't compare, the hardware, range, support, back up power, software, security. If I owned several businesses in the NYC area and there was another power outage or what ever I would want Wialan's system hands down.
