I've addressed issues like the ones being raised here on other stock message boards in the past.

The core argument goes like this:

If a drug in a trial is working, _______ would know about it and they would be betting the farm and the stock price would be soaring.

Then in the blank - fill in whatever you want: doctors, patients, company executives, the company's board, the hospital executives, suppliers...fill in anyone you can think of.

Well, it's not true. Take the board, for example. Anyone who sits on a board is already wealthy. Probably very wealthy. They all sit on multiple boards. So they are involved with a lot of companies.

They already have stock options. So none of them has any need nor desire to bet the farm on a single company they are involved with. They are not hovering over the stock price hour by hour like we are.

I had a few opportunities to be around some people who were very wealthy and who were part of publicly traded companies. The eye-opening thing for me was how their perspective was so much different than mine (someone who was not very wealthy).

The types of things we post here (about trading and the daily stock price) are alien to them because they live in a different world.

But the one I love is the doctors...if they are seeing people cured, why aren't they buying the stock hand over fist? I can't address that right now, but I will later. It's a bogus argument as well.
