Bacala..............Wave doesn't have a monopoly on encryption technology; far from it.

There have been a number of articles recently pointing out that human behavior is often the weak point in securing something of value. In this case the Army is guilty of not taking very basic measures to protect data and equipment. There are software based encryption tools that would have been very beneficial in this situation. I don't think that the Taliban has the resources to attempt to crack a bunch of portable drives, although I suppose it's possible. I am sure that there will be a response to this discovery that will be felt throughout the armed forces and beyond.

In WWII they used to say "loose lips sink ships". The underlying principle is no less true today. What Wave has to offer can help, but it is no panacea.
