The NWBO vs Adam Feuerstein soap opera has continued to develop, now hitting main stream media.

In the business section of the Washington Post columnist Steven Pearlstein has published the following piece taking Adam Feuerstein to task.

Northwest Biotherapeutics stock woes highlight the harm of short sales

It’s a hard hitting article by a Pulitzer-prize-winning journalist which increases the heat on Adam Feuerstein and The Street. It also continues the soap opera.

NWBO’s CEO Linda Powers has continued the ill-advised policy of mixing it up publicly with a bio-pundit. Posting the article on the front page of NWBO’s website under the title: Shorts vs. NW Bio. Why Main Street Hates Wall Street.

The title to the online version I linked to is even worse: Northwest Biotherapeutics stock woes highlight the harm of short sales, but both are somewhat similar in portraying a company, NWBO, which is under attack. IMO this discourages investment, folks may wish to root for the suffering underdog, but they will be deterred from financing the companies being beaten down.

Predictably, Janet Guyon, Editor-in-Chief of The Street where Adam Feuerstein publishes has respond a few days later with the following article demanding a retraction.

TheStreet Seeks Retraction From Washington Post on Steven Pearlstein Column

And so the soap opera continues.

NWBO really needs to hire a proper PR firm, focus on their achievements, not give press and ammunition to its detractors, and in short (no pun intended) put a muzzle on its CEO Linda Powers.

All this drama does not appear to be helping the NWBO share price, which is lingering around key support at $5, a level which should otherwise see a bounce. Time will tell how this key level plays out.

Longer term, it is the results of the clinical trials which matter most. NWBO shareholders would be better served if the company focused more on its science, and less on its detractors.
