And what did he "help" them with? Nailing Pfeiffer, I suppose, but surely they could have managed that on their own. The scam seems to have generated a great deal of paper; all the info would have been in there somewhere.
It's not as though what he did wasn't absolutely deliberate. And he seems to have singled out unaccredited investors who wouldn't realize what he was up to.
