Here's another guy that just doesn't understand that all you need to do to be productive on your tablet or phone is attach an hdmi cable, usb keyboard/mouse oh and find some productivity software and storage in the cloud and away you go.

Sure. Today, it's a cumbersome chore to do productivity tasks on tablets / smartphones.

However, there is a pretty clear trajectory for mobile devices based on historical trends.
The software and performance are improving significantly every generation.

1) HDMI cable - replaced with wireless
2) USB KB/Mouse - again, no need for "USB" at all - just use a wireless interface
3) Cloud based storage is incredibly useful and ubiquitous already (dropbox, skydrive etc...)
4) Cloud based services are increasingly the productivity tools of choice for young companies (startups in the Bay Area). These are the future Fortune 500's.
5) Tablets and smartphones are already replacing PC productivity functions in emerging markets
6) Apple is going to push iPad into the enterpise with the IBM partnership and iPad-pro next year

Wintel should not be complacent here - I doubt they have enough vision to see it yet, as evidenced by the snickering on these boards :)
