Encana will probably favor purchases in the U.S. over Canada to expand in the Eagle Ford or boost its position in the Denver-Julesburg basin, Feltin said. The company could add a new area of focus in the Permian basin and, in this case, would probably pull out of the Tuscaloosa Marine shale, which is more experimental, Feltin said.
