birdie…. quick reply

IDCC has a few papers on some of the things they first were trying to do in the M2M standards groups (ETSI as one)…You can check those for some ideas. IMO there may have been some particular opportunity for IDCC to engage with "more than a patent portfolio" outside of the standards… and with a name change, they shed some of the patent trollish history to be able to have better conversations and grow (the M2M world has been overwhelmed by patent trolls). That perspective has historically frustrated to a great degree the efforts of the BD team (IMO). I'm sure AP is a little happier without that on his shoulder.

so….there are a lot of M2M IoT middleware type providers (do google search on same)…. I'm not sure yet what will set WoT.io apart from the rest….some in the space are really big dogs like Cisco, Oracle, IBM, etc

the issues they are all trying to solve revolve around the significant differences in the types of "things" that are connecting….how these things connect, how and what they communicate, how the data can be delivered for more efficient and better analytics…how to scale as more and more want to come on line…..

Is it an Android type open network for M2M? Not sure I would use that analogy There is a lot of work being done in this space by a lot of different companies…

have a great day

Data,
I am trying to understand what Wot.io is trying to do. It sounds as though they are trying to develop an Android type open network for MtoM applications. Is that accurate?
