Actually, given the HD replies that were posted, the john deere post was not clearly facetious and I was going to ask him how he knew about the john deere situation but again, my focus was elsewhere. Should have been some sort of comment that the story was fabricated. The point of the story is well warranted but it was not clear.

Most of this dialog has been wasted for the last few days and it takes the focus off of the real situation as you well outlined. There is absolutely no way to spin the fact that the CEO did NOT tell the whole truth. I don't care how big of a spin master one is, there is just no way to ignore the real truth...if one is able to be objective. Unfortunately, some still have their head firmly implanted in the CEO's behind that they just can't/won't see the truth.
