Without enough dreamers "investing" the competition for the bids heat up. Where the insiders win with their much lower costs, and probably better trading tools. Traders get frustrated, and leave. You want to sell at 005 for a 50% gain. The broker for the Chinese Masters sees it, and instantly enters another Ask at 004. They aren't going to wait around, and surrender any bids coming in to a retail trader if they can react fast enough. Another trader nearing even throws in the towel, and goes below 004, again the insiders react and under prices that. It might be called a form of "manipulation". The insiders making damn sure they get first dibs on any bids coming in. Once the retail Asks disappear out of disgust, wash trades to walk it up resume. Meanwhile on the forum cries of anguish go up, about how the MMs are manipulating the price down. Nope, they are just processing the insider orders.
