However, I don't think this will be the case. IMO Titan will form a partnership or sell to one of the large companies in the next 9-18 months. I feel we'll all be very happy with the return, but not as happy as if they go it alone.
Reason being is Titan is a start up getting ready to go up against a beast of a company. Intuitive has more patents then most of you realize. They used to hang them all up & down the hallways of their corporate office building and have run out of space to continue doing so. Titan could be killed with a list of patent infringement cases that could tie them up in court and take focus off getting to market or sales. Not to mention the cost of defending the possible lawsuits. Hospitals won't want to buy a robot for close to $1MM that they fear will be pulled down the road due to lawsuits. Make no mistake Intuitive will put that fear out there.
This is why it makes sense that they'll sell to one of the big companies. Intuitive could harm/bully Titan to the point they might never recover. That's not the case if Titan is backed by a company 20-40 times the size of Intuitive.
This remains IMO all off our largest risk. I hope Titan has done the extensive research to make sure they haven't infringed on any of the 100's of Intuitive patents.
Long & Strong and I expect to see some good movement soon.
