It's possible to do way better than that.
Back in the sixties, Vincent Price organized a collection, mostly of prints, that was sold through Sears. Prices ranged from cheap to a couple thousand, but it was all the real thing. Rembrandt etchings, even. Maybe not the VERY best impressions, but real nonetheless. And whoever bought them back then must be quite happy today. Price chose every piece himself, and he wasn't interested in junk, much less repros.
It could still be done today, though there'd be less choice, and prices would be somewhat higher. Even so, it's entirely possible to buy good (unattributed) Old Master drawings for under $500.
