You are right about picking a plan and staying with it.

If you have a plan but backtest and decide to make a change that you backtested then follow for five years but it doesnt work as well as the orriginal because of data mining so you try an improvement for five years but maybe that works for awhile till it doesnt so you try a different plan that has a different data mining problem.

Aiming is an average system. But average is good enough and better than chasing the best system that worked yesterday but may not work tomorrow.
