Hi Is7550,

Actually you almost answered my question with:

Total Return 'index' figures for FT All share index and FT sectors
Date, FT All Share Index, Oil/Gas (Energy), Basic Materials, Industrial, Consumer Goods, Health Care, Consumer Services, Telecoms, Utilities, Financials, Tech

except for what does "FT" stand for?

The reason I was asking the question is because of the image on http://investorshub.advfn.com/AIM-For-Exchange-Traded-Funds-%28ETFs%29-ETFs-1292/ of the market cycles and which ones do well/poor in what portion of the business cycle.

BTW, found the book I have on business cycles: "Investing for Profits in the Eighties - The Malabre Business Cycle System" Alfred L. Malabre, Jr., 1982, ISBN 0-385-17047-5.

I recommend it, not just because it is well written and he used to be a news editor for the Wall Street Journal, but because he explains his personal journey in the investment world and does it quite well.

Thanks,

Allen
