I'm sorry but I don't understand the relationship between the accrual time and required events. I have gone through some basic statistical stuff to remind me about the subject but haven't found anything useful. What I do understand is that there are multiple quite logical elements which influence the required sample size so I'm not entirely clueless about the matter=) but haven't yet realized how accrual time fits the picture.

Anyway I keep investigating when I have time so maybe I come up with something useful and begin to understand it better.
