I believe your caution is well warranted.
Short of significant revenue producing deals, there is no reason for this to move up from a technical perspective. (There may be the usual momo plays but those have been more infrequent.)

The longer the company goes without those deals, the more people will wonder "will they need another PP?" The company doesn't have the luxury of time.

My chess game analogy from a few years ago, proven to be correct, is still in play.
Time is a big enemy if your positioning is not correct.
