New patent strategy. Why not offer exclusive licenses on selected new patents to preferred paying licensees? This is an incentive to sign up and pay for exising IPR. Can Samsung afford to allow LG or Japanese competitor to obtain an exclusive license on any important patent. Can Motorola? I won't even mention the other licensee that can invent around anything that IDCC does. This is a different strategy that flies in the face of the licensing bodies that have proven to be useless with their compulsary licensing of "essential" IPR.
I like exclusive. Keep out the cheapskates and freeloaders!
