nez- I certainly do not know if cane/sugar beets are the best material for ethanol production. I do know that it is the choice in Brazil and works well there. My point is that, given the artificially government enforced price of suger in the USA we will never know.

Further, insofar as corn is "native" to the mid west, cane grows in the SE and beets in the far north. Perhaps a competitive market based on area might develop absent government bribes and corruption in general. If the suits in DC further interject their putrescent, ignorant, self serving noses into ethanol, the industry and the nation will suffer.

As will XLPI, since Bill cannot afford to bribe Obama, Durbin, or their ilk as can the "majors". Watch what these pukes do to "protect" us from naturally occuring "global warming".
