Well, when I read it there is never a mention of a "partnership" which would be the word to use if they were working together... Or "working with tesla" would be another. Working "ON" a Tesla is just that, working on it not WITH them.

(SLNN), (the "Company"), an American specialty manufacturer of high performance vehicles, technical performance parts, lifestyle accessories and apparel, is pleased to announce that the Company will produce for the first time, a Saleen Tesla Model S sports car. The Saleen Tesla design will be Saleen's first effort in enhancing an existing electric vehicle.

I don't understand what they problem is?

No different then me saying "hey, I am going to take this here Mustang and enhance it to turn around and sell it to interested buyers" Now if I said "I am now working with Ford to take this car and enhance it" That is a completely different story.
