Lightspeed Trading legit?

Ok so I want to sign up with a new broker and I think I want to go with Lightspeed Trading. Commissions are per share and overall I will save a lot of money this way.

The process to fund the account seems a bit odd. I signed a bunch of forms online and was given an account number, but they won't give me a username/password until I fund the account. It's a day trading account and there is a 25K minimum. I have to send them a check (made out to the Apex Clearing Corporation). Another option is to wire the money (through a third part intermediary).

Is this the standard way to fund a discount brokerage like LightSpeed? When I originally funded my Fidelity account years ago I did it slowly and just transferred money from my bank. A 25K transaction makes me nervous.

Has anybody ever heard of LightSpeed Trading? Any issues I should worry about? Thanks!
