They are working on things if you want to believe it or not that's fine. They are working on the Tesla, They did the 351 and they will be showing the 2015 Saleen here shortly among other things. R&D now a days cannot be compared to when they developed the S7. With the many advancements in technology, it allows them to be more cost effective on R&D then 14-15 years ago.

The couple of models you mentioned (Dan Gurney & Parnelli Jones) where made in 2008 & 2007 and are NOT current models so now, they don't have to worry about having the money to support those models.
