They probably offered a future discount or priority once the new panels are released. Technology is always improving and isn't a limiting factor in most purchase decisions. The panels they selected most likely meet their current power needs. Sure I want the newest Intel processor when purchasing a computer but I need the computer now and don't want to wait until it is released next year.
