The government of Nicaragua announced that next week will announce the route that will take your canal.

The announcement was made by the secretary of public policy of the government, Paul Oquist, in a meeting with the heads of missions of Nicaragua to the European Union (EU), said the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The government representative stressed the opportunities and challenges of foreign investment construction of the Grand Canal for the construction sector, infrastructure, education, technical assistance and agribusiness," he added.

The Nicaraguan government and the Chinese company HKND Group signed the June 14th, 2013 a framework agreement for the construction of the Grand Canal Interoceánico project, which involves granting and operation for 50 years, renewable for another 50.

The channel, which will allow the passage of large ships between the Caribbean and the Pacific, will be built by HKND Group with estimated by the government at $ 40,000 million investment.

By law, the Nicaraguan canal could be partially built for 2019, which would have the capacity to capture 416 million metric tons, representing 3.9% of the world's maritime cargo.
