This time may be improved by temporarily overclock for just that time. The cpu will not overheat that fast.

I think there's no way it works the way Tom says it does. Overclocking behind the user's back? That's got mysterious instability written all over it.

Oftentimes, the 2-4 second startup is largely waiting for the disks.
