Sanswire II and Skydragon IMO are two competing solutions at least in terms of aerodinamycs, design and flight concept.

SSII is a super-tech, rigid, non adaptive structure. It can only do two things: float and fly straight as an arrow.

Skydragon is alive, adaptive almost intelligent in the way if finds the right place in the sky, negotiating the unexpected with each section of its body. Hum I am getting too philosophical here.....

GTE and the German connection is a blessing. The best thing that could happen to GTE. Incidentally we never, I mean never got any info on the nature of the deal between GTE/SS and the Skydragon inventors (a government funded consortium). How they are going to integrate solutions remains to be seen and I mean heare technical, legal and financial aspects of the deal. Anyhow, the sooner the better. Factoring red tape, inertia and marketing concerns, into the equation means IMHO that the "military" prototype will remain Skydragon driven and we will not hear about it. The military will do with smaller payloads and a smaller outfit (i.e. a smaller final product) versus the commercial prototype. This will remain in the short term huge and rigid (at least SSII will be).

We have been stuck with this payload dogma of 2,000Pounds/1,000Kg for long enough. Half of that could do as technology advances, this will result not only in carbon fiber solutions for the carrier, but a smaller and more powerful communication platform as a payload.

This kind of more technical debate would do with a bit more info from GTE. Skydragon as a university driven project is all there on the web at: http://tinyurl.com/erqr6

The good news here is that GTE/SS will soon start attending science/space conferences and their presentations will be posted. The team is there, the work is being done but they treat us shareholders like mushrooms. Guess you know what that means: they keep us in the dark (i.e. no shareholders letters) and when they do feed us, ofter it is more like s..... than anything else! Talking about missed deadlines....
