RE: I dont know about the jury's impression ..

I have often wondered about the money vs principal perspective regarding Rambus and it litigators.

On the surface, it would appear that the thieves are in for the money and Rambus (aka F and H) are in for the principle.

But, if you sort out some facts, you would find it hard to support that contention, afterall, F and H and many of the others at Rambus have made millions on options and such, while Appleton et al have yet to recieve any kind of bonus.

Ask yourself this if you were sitting on a jury and you basically knew very little about Rambus and the defense (Furness) pushes the fact that Rambus is a bunch of greedy people that found a way to make millions with just some silly ideas that the industry was not buying (which he has already made a pont of) while the mainstays of the business that are litigating with Rambus stuck together as a matter of principle and the American way (opening remarks about the plant in Eugene, Or vs Rambus only has ideas).

Stone will have a hard time playing this down. A jury tends to relate more to why and how someone does something rather than the legality of it.

Yes, watch out for Furness, IMHO I think his basic strategy is to paint Rambus as bunch of greedy engineers with an unethical business motive, just like it was done in paynes court.

The truth may be on Rambus's side but there are some facts out there that could create an interesting perspective about the Rambus 'Empire'.

Another question to ask yourself is why is Hynix going with the trial, is it for delay, or is it because they think they can win?

I think a large majority of the Rambus followers have thought this would be settled before the trial started, I for one think they are doing for both reasons. They feel they have a good chance to win and also it can still bide them some time to allow Rambus to make another stupid mistake.

The Rambus legal teams seem to paint themselves into a corner and end up on the defensive while he other side out flanks them and then goes on the offensive.

Just some idiotic thoughts on my part, but hey, WTFDIK.

Regards and best of luck,

Kent
