Hi Whatalane; I want your take on this; talked to my psychiatrist yesterday first time. Wanted to make sure of my meds. When I brought up the fact I was taking Vascepa (of course he had no clue), I asked him what his take was on taking Omega 3 Fatty acids. Of course I told him all about Vascepa which he essentially got glassy eyed (ignored what I was saying). He said that Fish oil supplements were not necessary. He said that eating Salmon or Tuna twice per week gives you more Omega 3 than any fish oil supplements. I told him I was taking 4 grams per day of EPA. He apparently wasn't listening. I find it hard to believe that by eating two servings of Salmon per week gives me the equivalent of 28 grams of EPA. IMHO not being a doctor this makes no sense. I think the doctor is wrong. He wasn't listening. How can eating Salmon give you enough EPA equivalent to Vascepa. With OM3 containing DHA/EPA, wouldn't the benefits be offset? Hence educating the medical community is paramount IMHO if V is to get any traction. Dr. Sears would be a good spokesman, we need someone to carry the banner.
