Mission and Background

CFRA warns investors, creditors, and other stakeholders about companies displaying deteriorating operational indicators, particularly those that employ unusual or aggressive accounting practices that camouflage such problems.

CFRA evolved out of Dr. Howard Schilit's decade-long academic research on financial debacles at public companies. As author of the leading book on the subject (FINANCIAL SHENANIGANS: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks and Fraud in Financial Reports - 2nd edition, March 2002), Dr. Schilit and his team have warned investors about many recent accounting frauds.
