Abbott is Active in Pursuing Acquisitions....

White, an aggressive dealmaker who has remained largely on the sidelines since the spinoff, indicated his renewed interest in the merger and acquisition market last month when he told Wall Street analysts, "I like what's on the menu right now.”

In a conference call Friday, he said Abbott will continue to be active.

“There are some opportunities that we continue to consider,” he said. “We want to enhance the markets and segments that are important to us.”

Abbott/Abbvie is a major player in those diseases to fight inflammation with it's blockbuster drug Humira. Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals would be a very symbiotic acquisition (or teaming partner) for Abbott.

I think it is very possible that Rock Creek is one of the companies "on the menu", especially after Dr. Mullan revealed a great deal more about the Mechanism of Action of Anatabine in their March 20th presentation.
